Two Verses Worth Meditation

My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me."
And my heart responds, "Lord, I am coming."
(Psalm 27:8)

Yet I am confident I will see the Lord's goodness
while I am here in the land of the living.
(Psalm 27:13)

These are both sooo good! The immediate obedience to come at His beckoning in verse 8 is one of the very things that can make us so confidant of seeing Him, like in verse 13.

How often do we hesitate at His call? How often do we obey...after we stall long enough that we feel convicted? I explained to Grace yesterday that obeying later is the same as disobeing...that true obedience is when we respond right away! That's the heart the Lord longs for us to display...one that will truly follow His voice with abandon, right away. As we do this, we become more and more confidant, because we see Him more and more.

He is so good and so faithful, and gives us countless opportunities to respond to His voice. Though I often stumble and hesitate, he is building my confidence as He continues to call me, and shows Himself glorious when I respond.

I AM CONFIDENT I WILL SEE THE LORD'S GOODNESS WHILE I AM HERE IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING!
